A Contest & An Open Letter to My Husband's Parents

Please vote for Mya in this contest. And then for my husband in this one. Thanks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Mother and Father In-Law,
I know it’s hard for you to admit that your little boy is grown up, but he is. He has a family of his own and that family includes me his wife, and Mya his daughter. If you cannot accept that, I suggest you learn to at least fake it because your blatant disrespect for our family unit is causing great strains in our relationship with you.
While we appreciate the fact that you have allowed us to live with you for the last two years, remember, we are paying you rent and therefore are not just “kids” living with their parents, but tenants. This means that you do not and cannot have a say in what goes on in our bedroom and more importantly, you do not have the right to ask us (even jokingly) if we are using birth control. Again, it is none of your business. If we decide to have 12 kids, as long as we are not asking you to take care of them, it is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. We would also like to point out that while we are living with you we are not your personal servants and when we have not used the kitchen in 2 days, not washing your dishes or emptying the dishwasher is not fair to us. We should not have to clean up after grown adults who are perfectly capable of cleaning up after themselves. We are not the only ones who use the bathroom and therefore we should not have to be the only ones who clean it. Although I do bitch about the dust and and dirt in the livingroom, it is not my job to clean YEARS of your grout and filth. If you do not wish to clean your own house, sobeit, but you cannot expect me to do it either. Therefore, if I wish to hire a maid to do it so that my family is not subjected to the germs, you cannot complain.
As for Mya. She is our daughter and that means we make the rules. We say what happens and what doesn’t when it comes to her. That means that when we ask you not to put her in the 47 year old crib with the broken bars and unsafe foundation, you must comply. When we return from apartment hunting to find our daughter in this crib and you telling some one on the phone that we will get mad at you for putting her in there, we reserrve to open a can of whoop ass. Why? Because knowingly doing what we ask you not to proves that you don’t respect us as people and as parents. If that is the way you feel, then consider yourselves cut off.
I could go on, but I think that this letter needs to remain short and to the point. If you need clarification, I can certainly go into further detail, but believe me, it won’t be pretty. Hopefully, I will not have to go there, but if you give me reason to, I will.
Thank you for your time-
Kandy
Mya is doing so much better. We are keeping an eye on the vomiting, but it has stopped. I'm chalking it up to anything but Pyloric Stenosis. She seems to be eating better and is less fussy. We even went on our first outing as a family yesterday. I had my six week (actually 5 week) check up at the OBGYN and Mya met the man who delivered her. It was so great. Dr. Shaw was so happy to see her and even happier to see that my c-section incision healed well. In fact, there is no scar at all. We talked about birth control and decided on the Mirena IUD. I'm excited that I won't have to worry too much about birth control once it's inserted. (((Doing the happy dance)))
After the doctor's we went to Target to buy some baby essentials. Mya loves riding in the car, but sitting in the carseat outside of the car is not her idea of fun. I can totally understand that. After all, who likes to be strapped down? Anyway, we went to Target thinking that it would have a great baby section considering the store is massive. Boy were we wrong. We were able to get the things we wanted, but the selection was horrible. It solidified my theory that shopping online is the way to go.
I hope every one had a great long weekend. I'll be catching up on your blogs today.
ETA: I forgot to tell you- I lost 20 pounds since delivery. During pregnancy I lost a total of 42 pounds and now I'm down 20. I'm eating a pint of Ben & jerry's tonight to celebrate. LOL.
ETA2: Please vote for my hubby in the "Glad to be a Dad" Photo Contest. Just click the link and vote. Thanks! http://photocontest.shutterfly.com/action/photocontest/vote?entry=129823
